Am I incorrect in saying this image was used by the Romans, the Nazi's, and our own US postal service?
This image was taken at the Astor hotel, off one of the original postal boxed installed in the lobby.

Funny how the empires of past (and present - great seal of USA) rely on the eagle as a sign of power. The irony of the whole thing is all those empires fell at some time.
