Today's photo of the day was taken while scouting for places to take wedding party images tomorrow.

Milwaukee family photographer| Happy 50th

As a gift to their parents this family arranged a group shot before heading off to a nice evening together. Happy Anniversary to Arleen and Jim.

milwaukee engagement photographer | Tabitha and Matthew

We had the good fortune to meet Matthew at his senior show UW-Whitewater, thanks to Mike Held who introduced us. Both young men are very talented artists, good friends, and soon to be studio mates out in the Washington area.

Mike might be Matt's good friend but it is Tabitha that brings the sparkle to his eye. They are going to share vows at Camp Y Koda, an outdoor celebration July 30th. We look forward to recording this event and being part of their celebration.

While scouting a good site for our engagement pictures yesterday. I literally stumbled across a fawn sun bathing. At first I thought it might be dead, since I was so close and it didn't move.. when I squatted down eye to eye to take the shot, he jumped to his feet and ran. I guess I have never been that close to a deer in its own environment, but this is the problem with so many humans in this world, we are squeezing out the wildlife, they have very little habitat.

While scouting for our family shoot tomorrow, I discovered this view, a great tree, and the abstract is from the gloomy rainy day yesterday.

I am contemplating changing my format for the next month to a square just to add to the challenge.

milwaukee portrait photographer | Eric and Jess

One more shot now that I am looking at these files.. I really like this image too.
Thanks guys for being so willing and cooperative. (In the freezing cold darkness to boot)

A late night, which means my yesterday post happens today. Our evening out was all business, we met with colleagues who are constantly honing their skills. We often converse about our craft, but yesterday we each took a stab at placement and light arrangement with a wonderful and willing couple as models. Eric and Jess hit the mark for me with this pose, he looks rugged and pensive, she looks dreamy. Now that they have gotten their taste of modeling they may be contacting an agency!

Charlie grabbed a shot in the bistro location where we tried to warm ourselves after being outside in the freezing cold. I love the warmth of the light on Jan.

As Charlie and Joel talked about how to create a solar panel for collecting heat for the pool, I searched for my photo of the day.

Milwaukee Wedding Photographers | Florist

Vendors of weddings often times are taken for granted, in my error I failed to mention the work of the florist at our last wedding Belle Fiori.

We have worked with them in the past and they always do a great job for the events.

Milwaukee Wedding Photographers | Kari and Doug

On Saturday May 21st, Kari and Doug became husband and wife. They said their vows in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with witnesses and relatives that traveled great distances to share in their joy. Mother nature threatened with grey skies, but the clouds broke to smile on these two at just the right time. The reception took place in the Miller Room of Coast on Wisconsin Ave. After the event the couple took their leave for a honeymoon in Jamaica, where I am sure it is warmer than Wisconsin right now!

Best Wishes to a wonderful couple, we hope to cross paths again in your future.

Spring..that time of year that means extra work, getting planters planted, lawn healthy, chairs painted and pool uncovered. Today we unveiled the pool, tomorrow we will have to get the pump going and clear the thing up from it's long winter's sleep. Those chairs are waiting for the first guests and a summer pool party.

Since wedding season has begun...posting in a timely manner may be a problem. I don't seem to have a problem taking the images.. just posting them.

While our bride and groom were disembarking from their trolley I shot the skyline before placing the wedding party in the picture.
