CHRISTMAS '08

Lin and Jim are viewing pictures from Jon, posted in Uganda. We ate, we drank, some slept!--->Charlie
The next moring Kate and Vic joined us for Christmas breakfast.

Before our guests arrive

We spent a quiet evening, (Sans all children) Probably our one and only--- because soon our children will all be multiplying.

A beautiful evening with our long time friends, more like family-the Courchanes. See next blog for pix!

Christmas Day...between festivities

Oh thanks goodness a break in the food and fun. Thought I would toddle down to the office to work on posting just a few of the family Christmas shots that I did Tuesday.
All families are fun at the holidays, this one is no different. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to be the photographer for four of these girls/guys--- weddings!

Martin Family Christmas

Gotta love these guys, they were not deterred by white out conditions, or daunting cold, not a grinch in the bunch...just warm hearted smiles. It was awesome photographing this fun loving family. I felt no pressure, just LOVE!
Merry Christmas to one an ALL!

Former student, Megan, has begun to pursue the theater arts. Here are a couple of her head shots. Megan is always fun to work with, she is a natural for striking a pose.

Meet Lindy!

Two pretty tired parents present to the world a beautiful little baby girl named Lindy,(hope it is spelled the way they would prefer to have her name spelled)

I believe this cutie already shows signs of having dimples, don't you agree?

Next Door Foundation

Around the Holidays all of us are reminded to be giving and helpful to others, but the people who are part of the Next Door Foundation, live by that credo on a daily basis. Charitable donations of time are not just for the holiday season, thanks for contributing to the good of a society.

Thank God for SNOW!

Some folks detest it..but I am thankful because this snow storm is giving me time to catch up on work in progress. It has been a busy time. We hosted a wonderful Christmas party for photography associates, still recovering from that, but then had to scurry out the next morning to shoot at the Next Door Foundation.

Before the party I did some head shots for Mrs Washington County. The final shoot for the day after the party was Lindy.

Artists unite..

How wonderful to have some time to share with former teacher Kathy Walter, and get the opportunity to photograph her work. Our conversation went the way of having an arts community since so many of the arts are being removed from our schools. I guess it's hard to take the teacher out of me because that sounded pretty good!

This is just a taste of her wonderful shadow box collages.

CREAK DAY-the universe began with a creak!

According to Mike...one of the owner's and artisans of the Vanguard foundry works in Milwaukee WI. TIME to party, is more like it. The 30th annual event is marked by good food, fellowship, art, and philosophical dialog, not to mention a great BAND. We even found the Log book from the year 2000 that was brought to our wedding, what fun to look back and see our comments. The wonderful sculpted creatures could not be passed up they are awesome!

Photography field trip

"Mooney", kinda like "slash" :) brought 19 great kids to our home/studio yesterday. We were ready for them....they had six photographers working with the groups: Learning about studio shooting, posing, lighting do's and don'ts, outdoor shooting, assignment shooting and work flow, retouching, and even a bit of history.

Special thanks to Craig from Craig John Photography-for freezing his bunz and fingers all morning long! Amy of Ardent Photography for providing the studio lighting sessions-I only wish I could have attended both sessions with these two great photographers.

Thanks to Mr. Kletti, who was the on assignment model, and the use of his garage while Carl taught the use of flash in the on the job setting! Thanks to Charlie the love of my life for all his support.

Thanksgiving warm up....

This past weekend was spent relaxing with friends, second annual pre Thanksgiving warm up with our host Don.
