RECOVERY

The Doctor reported all went well the surgery took about an hour and 45 minutes, he's in recovery waking up as I write this.

A sleepless night-no images with this blog

The alarm rang at 4 AM...neither of us had slept a wink, tossing and turning, hearing the wind, too hot, too cold, just thoughts of physical challenges that come in the days ahead. We arrived at the hospital at 5...repeated questions, check check recheck...and then Charlie's prep nurse appeared. What a great feeling to see a face we knew, she was my client for three of her kids senior portraits, two of which I had as students in high school. Talk of what they are doing and directions that I have taken after retirement help put a calming feel to the next steps. We had a few laughs, and as Janet administered the happy juice to Charlie, our eyes met knowing as he was babbling that the effect was at least that of two dirty martinis. Those of you familiar with Charlie know that with the third martini it's close to lights out. They promised to deliver that third medical cocktail in the operating room..with that and a kiss they wheeled him out. I will post again later.

BIONIC Charlie

In Case you are unaware, Charlie is getting a new lease on life tomorrow morning, that lease will be issued by Hartford Hospital in the form of a new HIP. Today's job is to tie up all loose ends, mental preparation, and hoping a universal consciousness visualizes him recovered and walking without the nagging pain he's had for years.

My job will be to hold down the fort, wait on him hand and foot, and keep all family friends and followers in touch with his progress.

They actually have already marked the spot---HOPE it's indelible ink!!!!
Keep us in your prayers tomorrow I promise to post tomorrow night.

"snow flakes that fall on my nose and eyelashes"

Shoot.. Jeremy and Ashley don't even care if it's snowing.. I don't think they hardly noticed! If only the whole world could be in LOVE maybe the unrest would stop.

Jeremy caught his girl and is hanging on to her! Do you blame him?

WPPI Vegas 2009

Imagine 12,000 wedding photographers in one place, learning new tricks and having fun. That's what WPPI is all about. The two things that made the biggest impression on me were the fact that we have to believe in ourselves and nurture our strengths, and of course that no man is an island.
I loved the emphasis on helping each other, which I felt really meant something since we were there with our good friends and competition.. Spottswood Photography. Sarah and Steven have the talent, the looks and are such a delight we love them both.

Hats as a finishing touch to couture for a wedding

Last Spring we happened upon an upscale wedding in an old convent church in Spain. Being the wedding freaks that we are, cameras in hand we jumped from our open market table and scurried to the top of a wall to watch the bride and groom exit the church.

It was better than Alice in Wonderland, all of the women attendees were gorgeously attired in colorful dress or suits with the crowning glory being a HAT.

The display of finery made viewing and picture taking great fun. I just wanted to share some European Wedding Fashion with my brides to be...

Anthony Little....

Uncle to Alexis Patterson, Missing child from Milwaukee, hits the streets for a photo shoot. The purpose of the shoot is the creation of a CD cover for a selection featuring a song about Alexis.

Keeping someone in our minds and hearts, may bring resolution to this mysterious case.
